STATEMENT

Engineer father often said, “You have to understand fundamental principles.”

Through painting, I have wanted to understand the fundamental principles of the world, something close to truth.

When observing plants, I sometimes feel that things connect inside my mind, even while simply looking at them without thought.

Over several days of observation, they slowly change, decay, fade away.
Flowers wilt, bend their necks, leaves fall along gentle trajectories.

Everything changes.
At this moment, this is the fundamental principle I understand.

Perhaps it is something shared by plants, people, Earth, everything.

In my work, I attempt to layer traces of existence, afterimages, fragments of memory as records.

Through painting, I seek to understand fundamental principles, moving closer toward truth.

 

エンジニアの父がよく「原理原則を理解していないといけない」と言っていた。

私は絵を描くことを通して、世の中の原理原則や、真理のようなものを知りたいと思ってきた。

植物を観察している時、ただ無心で見つめているだけなのに、頭の中で何かが繋がっていく感覚がある。

そして数日間観察を続けていると、それらは少しずつ変化し、朽ちていく。
花はしおれ、首をもたげ、葉もゆるやかな軌道で垂れ下がっていく。

全ては変化する。
それが、今現在私が理解している原理原則である。

それは植物、人、地球、全てに共通するものなのではないか。

作品の中では、存在の軌跡や残像を、記録として重ねるように表現することを試みている。

私は描くことを通して原理原則を理解し、真理へ近づきたいと考えている。
